Cobirders, Today my family and I went out insearch of Thayer's Gulls and it was a success! We went from either side (south to north) of the resivour, and the lake on the north side. Here is what we saw: 70+ Ring-billed Gulls 6 Thayer's gulls 7 Herring Gulls 1 Dark-eyed Junco (by call couldn't tell what type) 7 mallards 30+ Canadian Geese 40+ Cackling Geese 5 Virginia Rails (3 by call and saw 2) 1 Marsh Wren 3 Red-winged Blackbirds The majority of "good" gulls are at the south shore and from our knowlodge the ones in the middle and the northern flock were Ring- billed and one or to Herring. The rails and marsh wren are at the pond just north of the turn off to Lory State Park at a little pond surrounded by catails and aquatic plants. Just play ethier call for the rail and then the marsh wren will get mad at the rail. Skyler Bol Ft. Collins CO
