Arapahoe County:
Cherry Creek State Park
        --A Swamp Sparrow was reported by Roller on November 10.  
        --2 Lesser Black-backed Gulls (1 adult,  1 1st cycle) were reported by 
Walbelk on       November 12 (1 adult reported on Nov. 10 by Roller).
        --A Mew Gull (adult) was reported by Walbek on November 12.
        --A Thayer’s Gull (2nd cycle) was reported by Walbek on November 12.


Boulder County:
--9 White-winged Scoters (fem/imm) were reported by Mlodinow at Terry Lake on 
November 10.
--2 White-winged Scoters were reported by Mlodinow at Ish Reservoir on November 
10.
--A Red-necked Grebe was reported by Floyd at Boulder Reservoir on November 6.
--A first-cycle RED-THROATED LOON  was reported by Nunes at Baseline Reservoir 
off the north shore on November 8.  View from Baseline Road. Park as far off 
the road as possible.

Delta County:
--A (red) Fox Sparrow was reported by Robinsong at Sweitzer Lake on November 5 
and 7.
--An adult female Surf Scoter was reported by Robinsong at Sweitzer Lake on 
November 7.

Denver County:
--A Pacific Loon was reported by Tina Jones on Marston Reservoir on November 2 
and by Kibbe on November 7.
--A Lesser Black-backed Gull was reported by Kibbe at Marston Reservoir on 
November 7 and by Jones on November 11.

Douglas County:
--A Harris’s Sparrow was reported by Kingery at his home in Franktown on 
November 8.

Douglas/Jefferson Counties:
--At Chatfield State Park:
--A Surf Scoter was reported by Chavez on November 9, moving between the 
sand-spit and the handicapped fishing area.
--A Long-tailed Duck was reported by Walbek on November 8.  The Long-tailed 
duck was seen looking north from the sand-spit.
--A Red-necked Grebe was reported by Walbek on October 30 and by Pasquariello 
on November 6.
--A Pacific Loon was reported by Walbek on October 30; 2 Pacific Loons were 
reported on November 7.

Fremont County:
--A WORM-EATING WARBLER was reported by Moss on the Canon City Riverwalk,
about 225 yards east of the McKenzie Avenue parking area on November 5. It was 
glimpsed again on November 6 in the morning and seen well after  noon. Peterson 
reported that it was seen again mid-day on November 7 and had been joined by a 
Black-throated Green Warbler.  


Larimer County:
--A VARIED THRUSH was reported by Bretting at Lon Hagler Reservoir on November 
10.  The bird was seen in the low dense branches of a big peach leaf willow 
along the irrigation ditch that borders the west and south sides of the 
reservoir.
--Timnath Reservoir:
     --3 Lesser Black-backed Gulls (adult, 3rd cycle,2nd cycle) were reported 
by Komar on November 11.  (3 on Nov 10 by Wild). 
     --A possible SLATY-BACKED GULL was reported by Wild on November 10.
     --An ICELAND GULL (1st yr) was reported by Wild on November 10.
     --A Thayer’s Gull was reported by Wild on November 10.
--Horestooth Reservoir:
     --6 Thayer’s Gulls were reported by Bol on November 12;  10 reported by 
Komar on November 11. 
     --5 Lesser Black-backed Gulls were reported by Komar on November 10.(2 
adults on  Nov.11).
--7 Lesser Black-backed Gulls were reported by Wild at Lake Loveland on 
November 9.
--A Surf Scoter was reported by Wild at Dry Creek Reservoir on November 9.

Logan/Sedgwick Counties:
--Jumbo Reservoir:
        --A TRUMPETER SWAN (adult) was reported by Mlodinow in Logan County on 
November 12.
        --3 Lesser Black-backed Gulls (2 Sedgwick, 1 Logan) were reported by 
Mlodinow   on November 12.
        --2 Thayer’s Gulls (1 Sedgwick, 1 Logan) were reported by Mlodinow on 
November 12.

Park County:
--3 White-winged Scoters and a Black Scoter were reported by Walbek at Spinney 
Reservoir on November 11.
--2 Surf Scoters, 3 White-wing Scoters and a Pacific Loon were reported by 
Walbek at Eleven Mile Reservoir on November 11.

Pueblo County:
--At Pueblo Reservoir on November 3 & 4, Percival reported 1 Long-tailed
Duck, 1 Red-throated Loon, 3 Pacific Loons, and 1 Red-necked Grebe.
The f Long-tailed Duck was on the SE side, the Red-throated Loon was
between the Sailboard Launching Area and the SE side, the Pacific
Loons and Red-necked Grebe were off West Fishing Road. On November 6,
the Red-necked Grebe and the Pacific Loons were seen again.

Sedgwick County:
--A COMMON GROUND-DOVE was reported by Mlodinow near Julesburg on November 12 
and by Peterson early AM on November 13.  Directions:  Take I-76 to US-287. Go 
n. towards Julesburg. There are two bridges over the river. Between these, 
there is a road to the east and to the west. The road to the west leads to an 
area closed due to deer hunting. The road to the east leads to an island of 
land between the two parts of the river. It is mostly sandy soil with a few 
trees, much sparse grass, and a few dense bushes. There are several ponds and 
other areas where birds can drink.
--6 White-winged Scoters were reported by Mlodinow on the eastern side of Jumbo 
Reservoir on November 5.


Washington/Logan
--A Thayer’s Gull was reported by Mlodinow at Prewitt Reservoir on November 12.
--2 Rusty Blackbirds were reported by Mlodinow at Prewitt Reservoir on November 
5.


The DFO Field Trip for Sunday, November 13 is to Longmont and Northeast plains
Leader: Chris Owens – [email protected] 303-772-6048 This is a full day trip.
Meet at Jim Hamm Park at 7:30 AM From I-25 take Exit 240. To reach the park, go 
west four miles on CO 119 to Boulder-Weld County Line Road, then north two 
miles to Jim Hamm Park at 17th Ave. Itinerary will be decided on the day of 
trip. Raptors to be the highlight. Bring lunch, water, scopes, appropriate 
clothing to the weather as it is highly variable, radios. Birding until late 
afternoon, possibly 4:30 or 5 PM.
