I heard from a few birders that both the SEDGE WREN and EASTERN TOWHEE were
seen up until dusk today.
The exact location of the Sedge Wren can be found by following the link I
posted this morning ( http://www.flickr.com/photos/73831614@N00/6354097489/ ),
clicking on the map on the right, and zooming in to the desired distance. The
bird is at Walden Ponds, which is adjacent to, but disjunct from, Sawhill
Ponds. It's a County vs. City situation. The bird is on the shore of the
western-most pond at Walden, which is technically PRIVATE. The bird pops up in
the willows about 75m north of the bat box that is at the SW corner of the
Walden property. This is all revealed by the map on Flickr. Listen for the
distinct call notes.
The very pure female Eastern Towhee was very confiding this afternoon. I
watched it for about 40 minutes at David Waltman's house.
