I went looking for the Jaeger specie late today at Bowles Reservoir, in
Arapahoe County,on 11/17. I think the reservoir is in Arapahoe County according
to one of my maps. Bowles Reservoir is right next to and south of Marston
Reservoir. I believe the large, numbers of Common and Hooded Mergansers fly
back and forth to these lakes. Since Bowles reservoir has Gulls also[which fly
back and forth to both lakes], this is why I checked it for the Jaeger[since
the latter can parasitize Gulls]. No Jaeger to be seen but there were 5, F.
Greater Scaup swimming with 14, F. Lesser Scaup,in the middle of the lake.
Many Hooded Mergansers, and 5, Horned Grebes, and Northern Shoveler, Gadwall,
and some American Widgeon were on the lake also. Bowles Reservoir did not have
hardly any Gulls. Not much else, except for some Cackling Geese and Canada
Geese. Happy Birding!Tina JonesLittleton, Jefferson County, CO
