Greetings All
Today, Christian Nunes and I birded the Pueblo and Canon City areas The wind was howling at Pueblo Res, but we were able to find a GREAT BB GULL and 3 LESSR BB GULLS at the south marina, all adults At Valco Ponds, there was a SWAMP and a HARRIS'S SPARROW We walked nearly the entire Canon City River walk, which was most pleasant. At the far east end, the WORM-EATING WARBLER was still present, loosely affiliating with a small group of chickadees and RC Kinglets. It often foraged deep in clumps of dead leaves. Listen for the rather high, but piercing, call note. At the same spot there was a BLACK-CAPPED x MOUNTAIN CHICKADEE (along with 3-4 BCCH and a Mountain Chickadee). Elsewhere along the Riverwalk, we had a WINTER WREN, a SWAMP SPARROW, a HARRIS'S SPARROW, and another BC x MOUNTAIN CHICKADEE.
