Hi cobirders. My son Bob and I arrived at 11AM at the path that
goes by handicapped fishing place north of the
south Marina. Here were many birders I had not seen for quite a
while. Guess the first winter Pomarine Jaeger
brought many to see a rare bird. It had moved across to near the
north marina and the dam. Saw it well many
times with my 80mm telescope. Later got closer looks from the north
marina.
The large pale gray gull seen from both areas was a 1st winter
Glaucous Gull which Joey Kellner got good
pictures showing its bi-colored bill.
I also liked seeing the 5 Bonaparte Gulls at the first place near
the shore giving close up views .
We went out on the upper road toward Plum Creek and I saw in small
tree near the road an Eastern Bluebird.
I also saw one of the Common Loons in the bay area at the north
marina. There were at least a dozen
Aechmophorus Grebes one at least was a Clarks.
Met more birders I had not seen in years.
A nice day only a little cold and breezy at times.
