Happy Thanksgiving, Everyone.

I made a quick one-hour tour of Thomas, Prince #2 and Erie Reservoirs.

Thomas: no birds on the water but a SNOW GOOSE was in the field
immediately north of the reservoir along with a few hundred white-
cheeked geese feeding on grass. This bird may have an injury to one
of its legs as it appeared to be hobbling.

Prince #2: The most remarkable thing about this lake was that there
were no white-cheeked geese.
    Common Merganser: 3 females
    N. Shoveler: 2
    Mallard: 1
    RB Gull: 200 or so

Erie Lake/Reservoir: Lots of diving ducks.
Lesser Scaup: about 30. Might be a good idea if others scope all
these to see if there are any Greaters.
   Redhead: about 20
   Bufflehead: about 15
   RB Gull: about 25
   Common Goldeneye: 8
One of these may actually be a 1st winter BARROW's. I am
reluctant to say for sure as Sibley cautions
that 1st winter Common looks a lot like a Barrow's. However,
this particular bird did seem to have a
smaller bill than for Common but did not appear to have the
flattened top of the head as for Barrow's.
Hopefully, others will figure this one out.

Lastly, there was a HARLAN'S HAWK just south of Arapahoe Rd and west
of Hwy 287 in a tree east of
Arapahoe Hill Farm.
