I just got off the phone with Stan Murphy, the Burlington homeowner, who
with his neighbor
Dwayne, were such friendly hosts for us birders looking for the American
Woodcock. He
said that several birders spent several hours looking futilely for that
Timberdoodle today. Neither was
the "night partridge" seen in neighbors' backyards.
The Burlington weather turned colder and its windy.

One of the Burlingtonites will phone me if the "bog sucker" is seen again.
Birders have been showing good manners, staying out of private property
and using the facilities at fast-food establishments in town and they
appreciate it.
