Arrived at 11:30 AM but all the gulls were at the north end of the lake in
a light fog. Trying to spot the bird from the north end impossible because
of looking into the sun. Finally, at about 3:00 PM, with superb back
lighting and clear calm conditions, saw the immature (1st year) bird
flying around with its unique wing pattern near the southern end. Saw this
bird once in Israel but this was an ABA and Colorado first for me! Also
three Bald Eagles and a nice Harlan's RTHA.
