Deb Carsteson, Claire Montour and myself were some of the birders who spent
time looking for the A. Woodcock today. **Note, of special interest is the
following . We met an individual who told me today, that the Woodcock was in
her yard and would my friends and myself like to look at her photos. We said
yes and went into her house and looked at the photos. I asked her the date on
the pictures. She zoomed in and the photos said 11/18. This is new information
as far as arrival date goes. Who knows if the bird was in that same
neighborhood before 11/18. We all spent at least 6, to six and a half hours
today looking for the Woodcock. With certain owners permission we walked around
some private properties, with no luck. We saw 2 cats in the vicinity of where
the bird was seen yesterday and other days. They could be a problem? With the
front coming in the bird could have left , or the bird could still be around.
Obviously the ground is not frozen yet. Our surprise and rare species of the
day were Eurasian Collared- Dove, and 100's and 100's, and 100's of Grackles
flying into roost. Happy Birding!Tina JonesLittleton, Jefferson County, CO
