The following statement posted on cobirds and wsbn earlier today is
incorrect: "Fee only needs to be paid once if you participate in more than one
count".  Participants suppose to pay $5 for EACH Audubon Christmas Bird Count
they participate in.  Read the Christmas Bird Count Website
at http://birds.audubon.org/faq/cbc#t598n622 for the exact information.

Remember the Count Week period is three days before and three days after the
count day.  Rare birds seen during Count Week should be documented as well, as
rare birds seen on Count Day.  As usual, photos or drawings of birds that you
see, are the most helpful.  If submitting a description of a rare bird, please
describe what you saw or heard, and don't forget to eliminate more likely
species.

The first Colorado Christmas Bird Counts are on Dec 14, with John Martin
Reservoir, followed by Rocky Ford on Dec 15 in Southeastern Colorado, and there
are at least two more Bonny Reservoir and North Park on Dec 16th.  There many
counts on Dec 17 & 18 all over the state, and more the following week through
Jan 5th.  https://netapp.audubon.org/cbcregistration/ click on Colorado to see
the dates and information for all the counts.
