I went to Red Rocks got there at @2:10PM. no birds, seed mostly gone so I put out a coffee can full. Wasn't long when a Black-capped Chickadee showed up with 2 more. Then a Slate-colored Junco and later 2 Gray-headed Juncos and one plumper one with a very white belly typical hooded of a White-wing but no white wings, It had a larger beak and more white in tail. Stayed around. Soon a Spotted Towhee ventured out cautiously but stayed quite awhile Two Scrub Jays appeared and did not scare off others. 5 female House Sparrows came with one female House Finch. Putting in an appearance right where the most seed was the
Golden-crowned Sparrow, now an adult.
I also got good looks at a Townsend's Solitaire in the tree to the right. Left at 2:50 PM.
Going to be a good place to start my 2012 annual list.

Bob Spencer N.E. of Golden.
