Greetings fellow birders, I am a "Hoosier" birder, and will be making the trek from Indiana to Colorado next week and birding several days in the Eastern half of the state. I am visiting some birding friends, and already have been blessed in connecting with a few other local birders who have provided very good advice on locations for target species (pretty much all the western, montane, or desert birds we don't have out east).
I'm going to try to see as many of these species as possible, and so I know I shouldn't spend too much time searching for some of the harder to find birds, but I wanted to see if anyone had any staked out spots in the Eastern half of the state for a few of these more difficult species: Ptarmigan/Grouse sp. Goshawk Pygmy, Boreal, Western-screech owls 3-toed Woodpecker I apologize for the one-time request for info/non-sighting post. I'd appreciate any help I can get, and obviously just email me off-list if you have some advice. Thanks and good birding, Wesley T.
