Greetings all, Today I had the pleasure of birding with locals Linda and Larry Schmidt, and Jessi Oberbeck. Highlight of the short day (we birded ~2pm-530pm) was 27 BARROW'S GOLDENEYE at the Blue River Water Treatment Plant (Summit county) in Silverthorne. Before that we swung by Red Rocks Trading Post (Jefferson county) feeders and had 4 subspecies of juncos, Spotted Towhee, and the continuing GOLDEN-CROWNED SPARROW. We also went up to one of the pull-offs at Loveland Pass (Summit county) to test our odds at ptarmigan and encountered gale-force winds that about knocked us over, so figured the birds were hunkered down, if there at all.
