Yes, I agree there was a Harlan's hawk in this vicinity. I saw this bird several times in my (very small) backyard, just south of Quincy, between Kipling and Simms-- the most recent citing was Sunday Dec 11. It perched about 40 feet up a tall Siberian elm, probably attracted by the numerous juncos and house finches hanging out at my feeders/suet.
