Hi Cobirders, This morning, after walking to the far end of the Valco Pond complex in Pueblo, we had a drop in visit from the Rusty Blackbird originally reported by Steve Mlodinow on January 1. No luck with the Swamp Sparrow.
At about 12:30, we stopped by the nature center at Fountain Creek in El Paso county, where we added some seed to the platform (which helps on the days that the visitor center is closed, Sunday through Tuesday). We were rewarded with very nice looks at the adult Harris's sparrow, scratching under the bushes and around the feeder in the company of other bird, but did not see the White Throated Sparrow. Things to consider after you've (hopefully) seen one or more Snowy Owls at Barr Lake.
