I watched the Trading Post feeders at Red Rocks from roughly 11-12 o'clock this morning. The highlight was a calling Canyon Wren that I saw briefly on the rocks across from the feeders. The Townsend's Solitaire in the Juniper in front of the Trading Post was a lifer for me as well. I did not see the Golden-crowned Sparrow but I am fairly confident I had all five subspecies of juncos. I posted photos of most of these birds on my flickr site http://www.flickr.com/photos/22374475@N07/. I would appreciate feedback on whether the bird I labeled White-winged Junco is actually one, the wing bars were very faint. I was skiing at Copper Mountain yesterday and on the way to Denver today I stopped at Silverthorne for the rosy finches and was very disappointed to find only empty feeder hooks at the Elk Thistle Drive site. I also checked Loveland pass for Ptarmigan without success, the high winds didn't help.
