Stopped by and was able to find both the adult and 1st year Harris's
Sparrows in and around the Boat Launch area in Bear Creek Lake Park
(BCLP). They were not together this morning , but in separate smaller
flocks. Yesterday (Sunday), Chuck Aid reported seeing both of the
Harris's Sparrows together in the Boat Launch area.
Chuck also reported a singing Dipper, which is not unusual since both
the male and female sing and use their song to establish winter
territories. What is unusual is that the Dipper sang for more than 5
minutes - seems like a lot longer than the usual song. Dippers can be
found in the fall and winter all along Bear Creek & Turkey Creek in
BCLP. The bird Chuck listened to was along the creek just east of
Muskrat Meadows.
