Once again, I am sorry for the terrible misunderstanding I had with "Siri"
on my I Phone. I was so excited to see the bird, I dictated the email into
the phone and didn't see "Siri's" interpretation of "fluffing". Now I see
that the email has been repeated with one of the offending words still
present.......aghhh.....
In the meanwhile, I want to thank everyone who sent a message back
accepting my errors with humor and understanding. You guys are great to take
the time to do that!
So, here's the deal. The roadrunner was frequently taking time to
FLUFF out the feathers on his back and bring his wings forward. I did finally
find a picture of this sunning posture in Sibley's and Joe Roller mentioned
that they do that to expose the darker feathers so that they can soak up
the sun and warm up.
One of the cool things about that was that, because of the feather
appearance on the back of his head, there appeared to be eyes on the back of
his head. I hope to finally get my photo sharing program up and going and
get a couple of pictures out.
     Thanks again! Deb Carstensen, Littleton
