Hello Fellow Birders,

Yesterday we had to make a quick run to Pueblo...on our way we stopped at
Lathrop State Park while there we saw a total of 6 mature Bald Eagles and
one immature for a total of 7...that is quite a large number for such a
small lake. They were actively harassing the goldeneyes, mergansers,
pintails, gulls and mallards. We did not have the spotting scope with us so
we did look at the waterfowl very closely.
We did see an American Crow with very white wing patches. Have checked our
Peterson, Stokes and Sibley's guides for this. The only reference to this
was found in Sibley's stating "individuals with variable white wing-patches
are rare but regular". His was the only guide with a depiction.

Last night and this morning's snow has attracted a crowd at the feeders
including:

Northern Flicker
Hairy Woodpecker
Downy Woodpecker
White-breasted Nuthatch
Spotted Towhee
Song Sparrow
American Tree Sparrow
over 50 Dark-eyed Juncos (including our one partially leucistic individual
who only shows up when the weather is bad)
an equal number of American Goldfinch
1 lone Lesser Goldfinch
Pine Siskin
23 Eurasian Collared-Doves - after few numbers for years we are suddenly
overrun!
50-60 Red-winged Blackbirds
Black-capped Chickadee
Mountain Chickadee
European Starlings
25-30 Evening Grosbeaks
35-40 Pinyon Jays
Stellar's Jay
Western Scrub-Jay
Black-billed Magpies
25-30 House Finches
