Greetings All,

Ted F will likely post a more complete report.
The highlights of the annual trip into Valmont Res today (pls forgive my
spelling of said event) were

RED-NECKED GREBE: Likely adult, basic plumage. Mostly at e. end of Valmont Res
itself
TUNDRA SWAN: On Hillcrest Res, and thus not the spot the Trumpeter Swan was at,
but rather at the spot the Tundra favored last winter. Several of us who viewed
a swan on Valmont earlier this winter feel that this swan is a different bird.
It looks smaller, the feather pattern on culmen seems different, and earlier
views showed a swan with red on the gape, which this Tundra lacked. Note that
Ted Floyd had a Tundra and a Trump briefly on L Waneka just a couple weeks ago.
THAYER'S GULL: 5, 3 juvs and 2 adults. Black-backed and white-winged gulls of
any type were notable for their absence.

Good Birding
