This morning Cindy Valentine and I saw the Barrow's Goldeneye that Richard
Trinkner had reported earlier on the Platte River just south of 88th in
Thornton. We were walking about a mile south of the parking lot on the paved
path by the River. However, this time we saw a pair of the Barrow's
Goldeneyes.  Other ducks we saw along the river included:  American Wigeons;
Mallards; Northern Shovelers; Northern Pintails; Green-winged Teals; Lesser
Scaups; Buffleheads; Gadwalls; Common Goldeneyes; and Common Mergansers. We
also saw a pair of Red-tailed Hawks, a Coopers Hawk, American Coots, and
Cackling and Canada Geese.
