We saw 7 Great Blue Herons at about 2:00pm at the small rookery on Crane Hollow Drive near Hygiene in Boulder County. Six were building or sitting on nests in the trees just to the north of the middle pond, one was off in a tree further east. Surprisingly (to me), there was a Great Horned Owl sitting in a nest in the same trees as the six herons.
