A couple ofobservations from our Castle Rock North block (really
Franktown).
May 23-24: 1-2 Willets at Walker Pit. Also seen Apr. 25-27.
May 22: Least Flycatcher singing on Mitchell Gulch, a tributaryof Cherry Creek
(on private property). First time I’ve encountered this speciesin this area.
Steve Stachowiak has seen them a couple of times at Louviers(Plum Creek,
upstream from Chatfield SP).
I wonder ifthey occupy other spots on Cherry Creek upstream from
the state park.
Walker Pit: go east from traffic light in Franktown, turn right (north) on
Walker Road and park at the bend.
