Greetings All,

I spent a lovely, though slightly drippy (but windless!!!) morning at Tamarack
SWA yesterday.
At sunrise, which was still fairly dark under cloud-laden skies, I had a
repeated calling, then seen, LADDER-BACKED WOODPECKER just w. of CO 55. After
being stunned by that bird, not much else mattered. I did have 3 BELL'S VIREOS
just w. of CO 55 as well. To the east, between CO 55 and the pond near the
"manager's house," I had OVENBIRD, GREEN HERON, SUMMER TANAGER, RED-EYED VIREO
and AMERICAN REDSTART.

Between both sides at Tamarack, I had 6 BALTIMORE ORIOLES, 1 BALTIMORE x
BULLOCK's, just 2 Bullock's Orioles, and a number of unseen Balt/Bull types.
Similarly, I had 2 Spotted Towhees but 3 EASTERN x SPOTTED TOWHEES, and no
Eastern Towhees + 6 or so unseen birds. The hybrids looked much like Easterns
but sounded much like weird Spotteds. There was also an INDIGO x LAZULI
BUNTING, 12 YELLOW-BILLED CUCKOOS, 10 RED-BELLIED WOODPECKERS, a CAROLINA WREN,
5 FIELD SPARROWS, and a couple N Cardinals.

The PROTHONOTARY WARBLER was still in Holyoke, Yuma yesterday, at the e. end of
Akron Street, but we couldn't find it today in the gale force winds.

At JUMBO RES, in the Logan Co portion, on Co Rd 95 s. of Co Rd 70... I was able
to access a little spot where water was spilling over from the lake into the
field forming a little marsh. Here there were late CACKLING GEESE (5), SNOW
GEESE (4), and ROSS'S GOOSE (1). Also about 20 Stilt Sandpipers.

Good Birding
