Meanwhile back home in Huerfano County we found several Lark Buntings putting on wonderful aerial displays on County Road 450. They usually just pass through La Veta...so this was quite exciting!
We decided to check on the Bobolinks on County Road 360, which were present...when suddenly a female Dickcissel landed on the barbed wire fence next to the road. She was quickly joined by a male...she showed interest and copulation took place! I even managed to take photos of the event! The can be seen on CFO Facebook page.
