I have received provisional clearance from the Army to access the
Pinyon Canyon Maneuver Site ( PCMS ) to carryout COBBAII atlasing block busting
on 5 priority blocks located at this site. I am proposing to carryout atlasing
on Thursday and Friday June 21 and 22 ( PCMS is closed at weekends ) as this
will conveniently combine with Trinidad Blockbuster weekend arranged by Lynn
Wickersham. Visitor access to PCMS starts at 6:30 AM and all visitors must
leave by 4:30 PM. Gray Vireo , Hepatic Tanager , Summer Tanager , Long-billed
Curlew , Greater Roadrunner were some of the highlights seen in Atlas 1 . If
you would like to join me for one or both of these days for a rare opportunity
to visit PCMS please reply offline. Trinidad is the nearest location for
accomodation etc. A high clearance 4X4 vehicle is desirable to drive the dirt
roads .
