Today as I hiked around our trail at my house (Rio Grande County), I saw a male Prairie Warbler in our flowering trees. It was the first time I have ever seen this in the San Luis Valley (30 years of birding here) where there are no records that I am aware of (Righter, 1992). I had a great view from only 10 feet away. By the time I ran and got Lisa, the bird had moved. But a very special bird for sure.....
