Hello, Birders.

I had a great time with members & guests of the Ft. Collins Audubon Society
this past weekend, Sat.-Sun., June 16th-17th. The itinerary was Boulder County.
The grass is always greener on the other side of the fence, eh?

Anyhow... Gregory Canyon was birdy both days. On Saturday morning, we briefly
heard the Hooded Warblers and we constantly heard (and briefly saw) the
Rose-breasted Grosbeak. We dipped on those birds on Sunday, but instead we
found a Red-eyed Vireo (audible from the parking lot), a Peregrine Falcon, and
a Bushtit. Over at the Centennial Trail, on Saturday morning, we heard a Hooded
Warbler upstream from the bridge at the south entrance; I imagine this is the
bird found earlier this month by Christian Nunes. Christian's bird was at the
Bobolink Trail entrance, which isn't far at all from points upstream of the
Centennial Trail bridge. Also: several displaying Bobolinks at Centennial and
what sounded to my ear to be an Eastern Warbling-Vireo; no sound recording
obtained, though.

The high country (our main objective for the two days of birding) was gorgeous
but not yet alive with birds, as it will be in a few weeks. Black Swifts were
seen at two spots, Lesser Scaups are back at Red Rock Lake, and Allenspark is
infested with Broad-tailed Hummingbirds.
