Hi all,

Sorry for the late report, but we just got back from a 5 day trip based in Fraser and we don't travel with portable computer devices. On the way over, Aug. 2, we went up to Echo Lake to look for the Barrow's Goldeneye family. On arrival at noon they were close to the trail around the lake affording good views and photo ops. We counted _six_ ducklings following mama around. We didn't see any other birders at the time, but Elaine Coley reported only four ducklings seen that morning. So hopefully ours is good news.

We also enjoyed photographing an American Three-toed Woodpecker at Monarch Lake in Grand Co. on Aug. 3. And a juvenile Brown-headed Cowbird temporarily confused and surprised us at the summit of Guanella Pass (11,669') above Georgetown on Aug. 5.
