Yesterday was another day like the last few - one big run early before the heat hit, lots of Wilson's, totals in the 40s including recaps. (Yesterday there were 13 recaps - birds caught more than once this season. Again, these were mostly Wilson's, hanging around to feed and put on fat before flying the next stage of their trip south.) The 32 new captures included:
Dusky Flycatcher 2 House Wren 1 Blue-gray Gnatcatcher 1 Townsend's Warbler 1 MacGillivray's Warbler 1 Wilson's Warbler 22 Chipping Sparrow 1 Song Sparrow 1 Lincoln's Sparrow 1 Gambel's White-crowned Sparrow 1 We have set the schedule for the balance of the banding season: Open 6 days a week through Sunday, October 14, weather permitting (we would have been closed today because of this wonderful rain, even if it weren't our day off this week). Our closed days will be Wed 9/19, Wed 9/26, Thurs 10/4, and Wed 10/10.
