It looks like you had some good birds today! As always the photos are awesome.
Did you get the mentioned birds at Thompson's? I agree that you had two
Chestnut-sided Warblers in Wash Park. Who knows what else will join this
flock. You dog!! I keep on striking out on Cassin's Vireo!!

Subject: [cobirds] Chestnut-sided Warbler(s)

Folks,

Joe Roller and I birded Washington Park after

birding Lincoln and Washington Counties. We found 'the flock', after which

it didn't take long to find 'the' Chestnut-sided Warbler. About 20 minutes

into it, I heard Joe describing the location of the Chestnut-sided Warbler to

another birder, while looking into a tree. At the same time I was looking

at a Chestnut-sided in a different tree. Furthermore, I photographed a

bird that shows the start of some chestnut in the flanks. I don't see such

features in Mark Chavez's photos from 2 days ago. 'The flock' in

Washington Park is cohesive and likely dynamic. If you don't find the

flock you may not see anything. At the same time, my guess is that the

contents vary from day to day. A good case to bird Wash Park frequently

for those who live nearby.

Other goodies seen out east include Philadelphia

Vireo, Red-eyed Vireo, and Nashville Warbler. I came home to find a

Cassin's Vireo at my backyard water feature.
