Yesterday my husband and I hiked at Red Mountain Open Space -- almost to the Wyoming border. Exciting for us to see were *canyon wren*, *ruby-crowned kinglet, and a thrush, probably hermit, *among many sparrows, finches, meadow larks, and a family of four* golden eagles*, two juvenile and two adults. The juvenile were squawking the whole time as they scoured the hills, finally all four rose and flew south. The canyon wren was a first for me.
