Suffice it to say, it is one of those days.  I just got a call from Rick and 
Heather Knight (of CSU and TNC) who live north of Fort Collins and they report 
seeing 21 flocks of cranes at one time in the air overhead, milling about, 
landing, etc. in the Owl Canyon Area (east of US287 several miles north of 
LaPorte).  Rick quoted Aldo Leopold's description of these birds as being the 
"voice of evolution", held the phone up in the air for me to hear (which I 
couldn't, but could imagine), and then we lost our connection (maybe because he 
was shaking too much at the spendor of it all).
