After 2 days of closure due to bad weather, it was one of those "privilege
to live in Colorado" mornings. Started with the Crane show..volunteer
Francis Commercon reported that 200 or more took off from what is left of
the lake and flew east toward the fields. We opened a little later than
usual and the sun warmed things up very quickly; we were shedding layers by
about 8:30. Caught 39 new birds, which we shared with a good crowd of
visitors who were as eager as we were to be out in good weather again!
Here's the breakdown for the day:

Red-breasted Nuthatch 2

Ruby-crowned Kinglet 7

Hermit Thrush 3

Orange-crowned Warbler 1

Yellow-rumped Warbler, Myrtle 1

Yellow-rumped Warbler, Audubon 4

Song Sparrow 1

Lincoln's Sparrow 2

White-crowned Sparrow, Gambels 3

White-crowned Sparrow, Mountain 1 (FOS)

Dark-eyed Junco, Slate-colored 1

Dark-eyed Junco, Oregon 7

Dark-eyed Junco, Pink-sided 6

We are starting our final week; last day is next Sunday, 10/14. We are
closed Thursday.
