Adams County:
--A White-throated Sparrow and Swamp Sparrow were banded by McBurney at
Barr Lake on October 2.

Archuleta County:
--An imm Chestnut-sided Warbler was reported by Beatty at Navajo Reservoir
SP on October 2.  It is
a county first.  It was on the W side in Roosa CG, S of the marina next to
Colorado Visitor Center.

Boulder County:
 --A Red-necked Grebe was reported by Floyd at Lagerman Reservoir on
September 29.  Severs reports that on October 3, the Red-necked Grebe
continues at Lagerman.
--American Three-toed Woodpeckers were reported by Wilberding above
Settler's Park on October 4.  Take the Red Rock Trail, then left on the
Anemone Trail to the top of the hill, then NW along the ridge trail in dead
pine areas.
--A  POMARINE JAEGER was found by Guarente and Deininger at McIntosh Lake
in Longmont on October 6.
--A Red-necked Grebe was reported by Deininger at McIntosh Lake in Longmont
on October 7.

Delta County:
--2 Northern Waterthrush were reported by Robinsong at Sweitzer Lake SP on
October 2.

Douglas/Jefferson Counties:
--At Plum Creek Delta woods at Chatfield SP, Walbek reported a PHILADELPHIA
VIREO on October 7.

El Paso/Pueblo Counties:
--Gobris reported that an Eastern Phoebe was banded on October 2 at Chico
Basin Ranch.
--Gobris reported that a White-throated Sparrow was banded on October 3 at
Chico Basin Ranch.
--Brown banded an Eastern Phoebe at Chico Basin Ranch on October 4.
--At Chico Basin Ranch (fee area) on October 5 on the El Paso side,
Percival reported that Drummond found a PHILADELPHIA VIREO at Holmes Grove,
3 Winter Wren were banded, also found were 3 Swamp Sparrows, 2 Harris's
Sparrows and 1 White-throated Sparrow.
--At Chico Basin Ranch at Headquarters on October 5, Percival reported that
Bill Maynard found a BLACK-BILLED CUCKOO, Drummond found a Blackburnian
Warbler, and also seen were 2 m Black-throated Blue Warblers, Northern
Parula, Summer Tanager and Swamp Sparrow.
--At Chico Basin Ranch near HQ on October 6, Chartier reported PHILADELPHIA
VIREO and a Nashville Warbler at Rose Pond.
--At Chico Basin Ranch near the banding station on October 7, Percival
reported Worm-eating Warbler, Northern Parula, Winter Wren, 2 Swamp
Sparrows, and 2 White-throated Sparrows; and at marsh at HQ a Swamp Sparrow
and an Eastern Phoebe at Rose Pond.

Fremont County:
--A Black-and-white Warbler was reported by Hinds at Florence River Park on
October 3.
--At Holcim Wetlands on October 6, Rich Miller reported Eastern Fox Sparrow
and White-throated Sparrow.

Huerfano County:
--At Lathrop SP, Neldner reported a Tennessee Warbler at Martin Lake and 2
Winter Wrens at a wildlife pond between Martin Lake and Horseshoe Lake on
October 7.

Jefferson County:
--2 Palm Warblers and a m Black-throated Blue Warbler were reported by
Henwood at Belmar on October 2.  Chavez reported a Blackpoll Warbler and
Palm Warbler at Belmar on October 2.
--A Palm Warbler was reported by Henwood at Belmar on October 3 and Hudak
reported 2 Palm Warblers on October 3.
--A Palm Warbler was reported by Hudak on October 5 at Belmar.
--A Palm Warbler was reported the Henwood at Bear Creek Lake Park on
October 7.

Kit Carson County:
--At Flager SWA on October 6, Kaempfer reported Winter Wren, Swamp Sparrow,
and White-throated Sparrow.
--At Stratton on October 7, Peterson reported 2 White-throated Sparrows.
--At Flager Golf Course on October 7, Peterson reported Swamp Sparrow, 2
White-throated Sparrows, and Palm Warbler.
--At Flager SWA on October 7, Peterson reported 3 White-throated Sparrows.

La Plata,County:
--A White-throated Sparrow was reported by Beatty on the E side of
Vallecitos Reservoir on October 6.

Larimer County:
--A SEDGE WREN was reported by Biggerstaff at Dixon Reservoir on October 5.

Montrose County:
 --A White-throated Sparrow was reported by Dexter in Nucla at the W end of
W 5th Ave. on October 6.

Morgan County:
--Dunning reported from Jackson Lake SP on October 5 that 22 American
Golden-Plovers were seen and 2 White-throated Sparrows were seen at the
Campground.
--Mark Miller reported that a good number of American Golden-Plovers
continue at Jackson Lake SP on October 7.

Phillips County:
--At Holyoke Cemetery on October 5, Gillilan reported PHILADELPHIA  VIREO
and 4 White-throated Sparrows.
--At the Holyoke Cemetery on October 6, Mlodinow reported 2 White-throated
Sparrows.
--At the Central Park in Holyoke, Mlodinow reported YELLOW-BELLIED
SAPSUCKER on October 6.
--At Holyoke Cemetery on October 7 in 4-6" of snow, Kellner reported
YELLOW-BELLIED SAPSUCKER, White-throated Sparrow, and Blackburnian Warbler.
--At Holyoke City Park on October 7, Kellner reported YELLOW-BELLIED
SAPSUCKER and Red-bellied Woodpecker.
--At Holyoke in a thicket on October 7, Mark Peterson reported 9
White-throated Sparrows.

Pueblo County:
--A Yellow-throated Vireo and Eastern Phoebe were reported by Percival
downstream of Snakeskin Picnic Area below Pueblo Reservoir Dam on October 3.
--ACORN WOODPECKERS continue at Pueblo Mountain Park on October 2 as
reported by Bill Bond.
--A YELLOW-BELLIED SAPSUCKER was reported by Cici Lee W of Valco Parking
Lot on October 4.
--Percival reported a PHILADELPHIA VIREO W of Valco Ponds parking lot on
October 6.
--A Western Palm Warbler was reported by Percival near Snakeskin Picnic
Area close to the foot bridge on October 6.

Sedgwick County:
--On CR 40 just N of the Phillips/Sedgwick County Line on October 7,
Kellner reported a Harris's Sparrow.
--At Duck Creek SWA on October 7, Kellner reported Swamp Sparrow and Winter
Wren.

Washington County:
--At Last Chance on October 5, Kellner reported YELLOW-BELLIED SAPSUCKER, m
Black-throated Blue Warbler, and Swamp Sparrow.
--At Last Chance on October 6, Kaempfer reported YELLOW-BELLIED SAPSUCKER,
m Black-throated Blue Warbler, and White-throated Sparrow.
--At Last Chance on October 7, Kemena reported that the m Black-throated
Blue Warbler continues.

Weld County:
--At Crow Valley on October 3, Leatherman reported Western Palm Warlber and
f Black-throated Blue Warbler.

Yuma County:
--At Stalker SWA on October 5, Gillilan reported BLUE-HEADED VIREO and
YELLOW-BELLIED SAPSUCKER.
--At Wray Fish Hatchery on October 5, Gillilan reported Red-bellied
Woodpecker and Eastern Phoebe.
--At the Wray Fish Hatchery on October 6, Mlodinow reported Winter Wren, 2
Red-bellied Woodpeckers, and White-throated Sparrow.
--On CR 48.5, Mlodinow reported EASTERN MEADOWLARK on October 6.
--On Hwy 385, S of CR 44.5 on October 7, Peterson reported a Palm Warbler.
--At Foster's Grove CG at Bonny on October 7, Peterson reported 4
White-throated Sparrows and White-eyed Vireo.
--At Wagon Wheel CG at Bonny on October 7, Peterson reported 2 Eastern
Phoebes.

The DFO Field Trip for Saturday, October 13 will be to Central South Platte
River led by Jackie King (720-381-3314).  Meet the leader at 0800 at
parking Lot Walnut at 4th and Walnut St on the Auraria Campus.  Will walk
along the greenbelt and see what birds are living in the heart of downtown
Denver.  Bring drinking water and snacks for a half day trip.  Leader uses
a scooter for mobility so the trip will be accessible for handicapped.
 Parking costs $2 for all day.  From I-25 take Speer Blvd South to Auraria
Parkway, then turn right to 7th St.  At 7th St turn left one block to
Walnut.  Turn right onto Walnut and continue to 4th and you will see the
parking lot on the South side of the street.  Please call the leader of
going.  Meeting place is very close to the Light Rail Station.

The DFO event for Sunday, October 14,  will be The Big Sit led by Joey
Kellner (303-978-1748).  The meeting place is the Heron-Over-look at
Chatfield State Park.  From Wadsworth  Blvd entrance, go right at the T and
continue around the reservoir.  After you cross the South Platte River make
a hard left into the large parking lot label Heronry Overlook.  At the far
right corner a trail leads down to the Heron Overlook.  Come and join Joey
and other recruits any time after dawn.  Stay for an hour, all morning, or
all day.  Bring chairs, breakfast, lunch, dinner.  Bring binoculars,
scopes, field guides, and other essential birding equipment.  State Parks
Pass required.
