Hi all, There were a number of birders looking around Pueblo today.
Here are my highlights (all of which were seen by at least one other birder, besides me) Pueblo Reservoir: Lesser Black-backed Gull - 2 adults on the South Shore Marina tires (seen by many) Thayer's Gull - 1 adult well seen on the South Marina tires (early afternoon, seen by at least 5 birders) Franklin's Gull - at least 7 on the South Shore Marina tires (getting late for these in Pueblo) Common Loon - 6 at least on the lake (most were off Sailboard launching area) Say's Phoebe - 2 near the South Shore Marina (getting late, however Pueblo usually has a few during the winter) Mountain Bluebirds are feeding on juniper berries at West Fisherman's Point, near the restroom Bonaparte's Gulls - seen at several spots around the reservoir Grebes continue to be abundanton the reservoir -- there could like 1000+ Western Grebes, very few seem to be Clark's, good number of Eared Grebes, some Horned (mostly near the dam), and some Pied-billeds too. Valco Ponds: Blue-winged Teal - 1 was photographed by Robb Hinds and myself, along the River, east of the parking lot (getting a bit late for Pueblo, though sometime one is around later in November) Pueblo City Park: Yellow-bellied Sapsucker - 1 adult male first seen by John Drummond's group early in the day near the Big Oak, near the Ravine in NE Corner of the park, and later seen by many other birders Evening Grosbeak - 1 flying around, heard by many Other birders found other things that I didn't see, that hopefully will be reported.
