HI all, I found the following at Fort Logan Cemetary on 11/28 : One blue- morph
Snow Goose ad., and one white-morph juvenile, Ross's Goose, were in the second
pond from the main entrance to the Cemetary, which is off of S. Sheridan Blvd.
These birds were seen around 4:30pm. At Marston Reservoir the White-winged
Scoter was in the middle to south end of the lake. You do need a scope to see
this bird. I think the bird will stay around until the lake starts to freeze
over, hopefully for the Xmas count. While scanning for Loons, all of a sudden
6 Loons all popped up out of the water at the same time. There were a total of
9 Common Loons today at the lake. 3, other Loons were swimming together in a
separate part of the lake. One Loon was deffinately smaller than the 2 it was
swimming with. It was not a Red-throated Loon. The 3 Loons were way out in the
middle of the reservoir so getting deffinate ID markings was a little
difficult. BUT the Loon which was smaller, swimming with the other 2 Common
Loons had a light nape contrasting with a darker back, and from a distance the
head looked rounded. So I am saying this smaller Loon was a probable Pacific
Loon, most likely. More than 600 Common Mergansers were present today, along
with Redheads and Ruddy Ducks, etc., etc. Happy Biding!Tina JonesLittleton,
