Today, I went to the Red Rocks Trading Post to see if the Rosy Finches returned. I got there at 1030 I didn't see any Rosy Finches but did see the Golden-crowned Sparrow. I also put a plastic niger feeder(Perky Pet) under the apple tree and filled it with niger. Within 10 minutes two American Goldfinches feasted on the seed. I'm hoping it attracts Redpolls in the next few weeks.The fallen niger should be good for the sparrows. Not sure how long the feeder will last but felt I should give it a try,
