Longmont Christmas Bird Count had a preliminary total of 92 species(a  
couple of areas had not reported in yet). One species was found for the first  
time: A Eastern Phoebe in St. Vrain Park in south central Longmont.   Other 
unusual species were Hermit Thrush, Horned Grebes, Winter Wren,  Am. White 
Pelicans, Common Redpolls and Evening Grosbeaks.  Unusually  high numbers of 
Northern Shovelers, Harris Sparrows and Mountain Bluebirds  were seen.
