This past weekend (Dec 15 & Dec 16), we had an opportunity to observe the male
Varied Thrush in Conifer, CO. The bird was observed at the feeder and in the
surrounding vegetation at the residence of Judy Carrier and Karen Martin,
located at 17355 County Road 96, Conifer. County Road 96 is also known as
Platte River Road. We would like to thank Judy and Karen for their gracious
hospitality. Also on Dec 19, I observed the Northern Cardinal at the Hawthorn
Gulch location in north Boulder previously described by Thomas Heinrich.
