Greetings All Cathy Sheeter and I visited Valmont Res mid-day and had 14 Tundra Swans. The group of 9 birds, 3 adults, and an immature and an adult. There were also 2 Am White Pelicans, one nearly deceased and one rather healthy looking. Among the grebes, there is an apparent Western x Clark's hybrid. Lotsa white on sides, some white over eye, but not as distinctive as typical for Clark's and a full-colored bill. At Anthem Ranch, Broomfield we had 2 Thayer's Gulls and a LBB Gull. At nearby Sienna Pond ( near corner of Lowell and Sheridan) we found Bill Schmoker, who pointed out a very small (nearly size of Herring Gull) Glaucous Gull and then we found a male Redhead x RN Duck. I went to get my oil changed, Bill went back to Anthem and found a first-year Iceland Gull!!! Good Birding Steve Mlodinow Longmont
