This afternoon at about 1PM, Dan David Dowell and I converged at the site of
the Acorn Woodpecker sighting. We talked to Deb, one of the homeowners
(along with Mike), who happily shared pictures and stories about the bird.
She said we are welcome to enjoy her feeders, and is excited about the bird.
David found the bird in a deciduous tree just behind their garage, where she
provided nice photo opportunity, and where we were able to share her with
another neighbor. The previous directions are great, just follow Cheyenne
Blvd to the Sacred Grounds coffee shop, and the bird is frequenting the area
of the Grinch/Santa house (1804-1810 Willow Cir). Once the Grinch is gone,
just look for a red and white "For Sale by Owner" sign that's perched in the
corner of the yard. There is street parking, but it's also for the coffee
shop, so consider a nice cup of coffee or tea in appreciation! Also, two
resident Border collies are occasionally out, but friendly.
