Adams County:
-- On January 4, Gilbert reported 4 Barrow's Goldeneyes (2m, 2f) on the S
Platte by the water tank S of 88th and Colorado and Dunning reported 4
Barrow's Goldeneyes (3m, 1f) by the water tank.
--On January 1, along the S Platte River from 74th St upstream, Floyd
reported 8 Rusty Blackbirds on the Denver Urban CBC.  On January 5, Dunning
reported 8 Rusty Blackbirds near I-270 and S Platte River.

Arapahoe County:
--A SNOWY OWL was reported by Stachowiak flying across I-225 between
Yosemite and Parker Road toward fields below Cherry Creek Dam on January 2.

Boulder County:
--On January 3, Mlodinow reported 4 Lesser Black-backed Gulls and 6
Thayer's Gulls at Valmont Reservoir.  On January 5, Nunes reported 12
Tundra Swans, 3 Lesser Black-backed Gulls and Thayer's Gulls at Valmont
Reservoir.
 --On January 1, Dowell reported GOLDEN-CROWNED SPARROW and Harris's
Sparrows near the small stream which passes under Valmont where the
pedestrian crossing for White Rocks is.   On January 3, Mlodinow reported
GOLDEN-CROWNED SPARROW and 2 Harris's Sparrows along the path from the
Teller Farms parking lot to the White-Rocks Trail and they flew to north
side of Valmont Road.  On January 5, Nunes reported GOLDEN-CROWNED SPARROW
and Harris's Sparrow on Teller Farm/White Rocks trail.
--On January 4, Piombino reported about 20 Common Redpolls and 1-3 Harris's
Sparrows coming to her feeders.  Her address is 6012 St Vrain Road which is
W of  Hygiene.
--On January 5, Nunes reported hearing the Northern Cardinal in Hawthorn
Gulch.

Custer County:
--A f EASTERN TOWHEE was reported by Dan Maynard in Wetmore in a yard with
a feeder on CR 395 on January 1.

El Paso County:
--On January 4, Teuton reported that the ACORN WOODPECKER continues in SW
Colorado Springs around Willow Circle and Cheyenne Blvd.
--On January 4, Bill Maynard reported a Winter Wren at Fountain Creek RP at
milepost 18 on the regional trail.

Fremont County:
--An ad m EURASIAN WIGEON first found on the Penrose CBC was refound by
Drummond at Centennial Park in Canyon City on December 30.  It was feeding
on grass with American Wigeon.   Steve Brown reported that the EURASIAN
WIGEON continues at Centennial Park on January 1.

Garfield County:
--35 Barrow's Goldeneyes were reported by Filby at Coryell Ranch Pond on
January 2.

Jefferson County:
--Henwood reported on November 26 that the GOLDEN-CROWNED SPARROW
continuues at Red Rocks Trading Post.  On January 4, Brown reported
GOLDEN-CROWNED SPARROW and 2 Common Redpoll at Red Rocks Trading Post.

Larimer County:
 --24 Common Redpolls were reported by Sparks behind the Discovery  Museum
in Fort Collins on December 15.  The museum is N of the intersection of
Mason and Cherry St.  On December 30, Newport reported that the Common
Redpolls continue to visit the feeders behind the Discovery Museum.  On
January 5, Sparks reported 33 Common Redpolls at Lee Martinez Park in Fort
Collins.
--On January 1 on the Loveland CBC, Komar reported 1 Barrow's Goldeneye, 1
Thayer's Gull, 1 Lesser  Black-backed Gull, 2 White-winged Doves, 2
Chihuahuan Ravens, 1 Winter Wren, 1 Pine Warbler, 2 White-throated
Sparrows, 2 Harris's Sparrows, and 17 Common Redpolls; and on count week 2
Tundra Swan and 3 HOARY REDPOLLS.

Mesa County:
 --On the Grand Mesa CBC on January 1, Korte reported enormous flocks of
all 3 species of Rosy-Finches on Road V with Common Redpolls and 12
Barrow's Goldeneyes on Jerry Creek Reservoir #1.  On January 5, Trappett
refound a flock of 3 species of Rosy-Finches with Common Redpolls on Road V.

Moffat County:
--30 - 40  Barrow's Goldeneyes were reported by Forrest Luke on the Yampa
River just S of Craig city limits on January 5.

Pitkin County:
--10 Gray-crowned Rosy-Finches were reported by Dick Filby at Snowmass ski
area on January 2.

Pueblo County:
--On January 1, at N Marina of Pueblo Reservoir, Mlodinow reported Pacific
Loon, Red-throated Loon, Great Black-backed Gull, and 1 Common Redpoll and
at S Marina Great Black-backed Gull, 1st-cyc GLAUCOUS-WINGED GULL, ad MEW
GULL, 10 Lesser Black-backed Gulls, and 10 Thayer's Gulls.
 --On January 1 at Pueblo City Park, Mlodinow reported Yellow-bellied
Sapsucker in NE corner and Pine Warbler N edge of zoo.
--On January 1 on the Arkansas River below Pueblo City Park near the foot
bridge Dan Maynard reported a f Barrow's Goldeneye.
--On the Lake Isabel CBC on January 5, Percival reported Acorn Woodpecker,
Harris's Sparrow, and Chihuahuan Raven.

Weld County:
--An imm/f Long-tailed Duck was reported by Mlodinow at the Frederick
Recreational Area on December 20 and on January 3 Mlodinow reported that
the Long-tailed Duck continues at the area.

The DFO field trip for Sunday, January 6 will be to Walden Ponds in
Boulder.  This is a joint trip with Boulder Bird Club.  Leaders:  Chris
Owens from DFO (303-772-6048) and Dick Pautsch from BBC (rjpautsch At
gmail.com <[email protected]>).  The entrance to Walden Ponds is off
75th, just south of Jay Road and north of Valmont Road.  Meet at Cottonwood
Marsh parking lot at 0900.  Bird until noon.  Dress for cold weather, with
warm footwear and hat.  Bring binoculars, scope, water and snack.  Everyone
welcome.

The DFO field trip for Saturday, January 12 will be to Belmar Park led by
Karleen Schofield (303-936-8661).  Meet at 1000 on the west side of the
Irongate office building.  Belmar Historic Park is at 800 S. Wadworth Blvd
in Lakewood.  From Alameda and Wadsworth go South on Wadsworth, turn west
at light on West Ohio Ave.  Drive a short two blocks to parking lot.  This
is a two hour trip open to all people of any age.  Kountze Lake in Belmar
often has open water in January.  Bring water, layer clothing, sun block,
binoculars, scopes.  Restrooms are available.  Be prepared to walk 3/4 to 1
mile on flat trails.  If wuestions or questionable weather, please call
leader the night before.

The DFO field trip for Sunday, January 13 will be to 99th and the Platte
led by Chris Owens (303-772-6048).  Meet the leader at 0800 at E. 99th and
South Platte River.  From I-25 take Thornton parkway to Washington.  Go
south on Washington to 88th.  Go left to Colorado Blvd, then into parking
lot for S Plate River Greenway Trailhead.  This will be a half day trip
walking on paved trails wich will end by noon so optional.  RSVP at
