Folks,

Loch and I visited a few locations in Boulder and Larimer Counties today.  At 
the Valmont complex we had 11 Tundra Swans along with a nice variety of ducks.  
We dipped on the West Boulder Northern Cardinal and headed up to Allenspark.  
High altitude finches and corvids were few and far between. No rosy finches, 
Cassins's Finches, Pine Grosbeaks or nutcrackers were observed in Allenspark, 
Estes Park nor places in between.  A half dozen Evening Grosbeaks were all we 
could muster in Allenspark.   We did score a Northern Pygmy Owl as a 
consolation prize.  We came down HWY 34 into Loveland to look for Trumpeter 
Swans previously reported by Mlodinow.  They were at Lower Hoffman Lake, in the 
10% open water.  Swan and owl photos as well as other 2013 birds can be seen by
