Ok, probably not that rare, but I was very surprised to see a male ring-necked pheasant perched in a tree on Coyote Run Open Space in Louisville today about noon. I heard it call, then saw it. I have walked this path at least 4 or 5 times week for 3 years and have NEVER seen this sight. It was in the southwest corner of the dike just after the path turns west.
