This afternoon on the reservoir at Rawhide Energy Project I found good
numbers and variety of waterfowl, including 1 juvenile light phase Snow
Goose; three species of grebes (Pied-billed, Western and Horned); and 8
species of ducks. A lot of Canada and Cackling Geese, some coots, a few
gulls and one Bald Eagle were also present.

Within 0.25 miles on either side of the intersection of Larimer CR 11 and
CR 76, I found a variety of raptors lined up almost one after the other on
posts and perches: 2 Merlins, a Ferruginous Hawk, a Red-tailed Hawk, a Bald
Eagle, and a Rough-Legged Hawk. Elsewhere, at the Schware unit of
Wellington State Wildlife Area, I had great looks at perched American
Kestrels and one Prairie Falcon, and a fly-by Northern Harrier. Fantastic
variety in a short span of time!
