Birders, Today we led the DFO field trip to Pueblo Lake State Park.
I was unaware that hunting is allowed in the state park only a hundred yards from the south marina. This clearly accounted for the poor numbers of water birds. Highlights: South Marina: Great Black-backed Gull (adult) Pacific Loon (last seen hiding by the dam as far away from the gun fire as it could get) Red-throated Loon (last seen flying west) West Fisherman Point: 1st cyc Glaucous Gull (way out on the ice to the west avoiding the hunters directly below west Fisherman Point) The Dam: 2 Golden Eagles Pueblo West: Some cholla still survive and we did find Scaled Quail on Harmony. Pueblo Mountain Park: Dipped on Acorn Woodpecker Colorado Springs: Dipped on Acorn Woodpecker Ira and Tammy Sanders Golden, CO -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Colorado Birds" group.
