On Tuesday, I was working in Hot Sulphur Springs and arrived early, so I drove around town looking for feeders. A block from the courthouse, on the corner of Maple and Sumner Streets is a house with about 8 feeders, a mix of seed and suet feeders. There were about 10 Gray Crowned Rosy Finches, as well as Mountain Chickadees, Stellar's Jays, Eurasian Collared Doves, and Starlings. I tried to find other rosy Finches, but only saw Gray Crowned. There is great cover and the variety of feeders. One block closer to Highway 40, away from that house and across from the courthouse, was a platform feeder, but it was being controlled by a gang of corvids- about 16 crows, half a dozen Stellar's Jays, and a few magpies, so anyone smaller would have had a tough time getting through. Those feeders would be good to check for anyone going through Hot Sulphur springs, as you can sit in your car on the street.
