ARAPAHOE COUNTY:
--A f Varied Thrush was reported by Campbell visiting the backyard of Kirby
and Mary Eleanor Cockerham in Greenwood Village on April 12.  If you would
like to try to see the bird please call the Cockerhams at 303-771-8021.

BENT COUNTY:
--Duane Nelson reported that a Piping Plover has returned to John Martin
Reservoir on April 8.
--2 Dunlin were reported by Nelson along the Arkansas River below the dam
at John Martin Reservoir on April 11.
--A ZONE-TAILED HAWK was reported by Nelson near Hasty Campground below the
dam at John Martin on April 11.
>From the bridge at Hasty over the Arkansas, walking east, the bird was in
Russian Olives about 200 yards east of the bridge.  It flew off to NE which
is private property.

BOULDER COUNTY:
--Nunes reported that the Eastern Phoebe has returned to the Canon Ditch
headgate on South Boulder Creek on April 4.  Boswell refound the Eastern
Phoebe near the headgate on April 7.
--An Eastern Phoebe was found by the First Sunday Birders by the bridge on
75th St over Boulder Creek on April 7.

CROWLEY COUNTY:
--An ad LITTLE GULL (full black head and dark underwings) was reported by
the VENT Tour led by Michael O'Brien and Brian Gibbons at Lake Meredith on
April 7.  The LITTLE GULL was seen by several birders later on April 7.

DELTA COUNTY:
--A COMMON BLACK-HAWK was reported by Beason soaring over Hotchkiss for 15
minutes on April 5.

DOUGLAS/JEFFERSON COUNTIES:
--Kibbe reported that the Eastern Phoebe continues at "Phoebe Bridge" at
Plum Creek Delta at Chatfield SP on April 11.

EAGLE COUNTY:
--135+ Barrow's Goldeneyes were reported by Filby at Spring Park Reservoir
in El Jebel on April 10.  Deininger refound the Barrow's Goldeneyes at
Spring Park Reservoir on April 11.

EL PASO COUNTY:
--A male Barrow's Goldeneye was reported by Barnes at the Double Tree Pond
at Circle Drive and I-25 in Colorado Springs on April 5.  Driscoll refound
the Goldeneye on April 6.

FREMONT COUNTY:
--A winter plumaged Pacific Loon was reported by Gavin Bieber at Brush
Hollow Reservoir on April 9.  The Pacific Loon was refound by Percival on
April 10.
--An Eastern Phoebe was reported by Percival E of Portland on April 10.

GUNNISON COUNTY:
--On April 10, Leatherman reported 11 Brown-capped Rosy-Finches and 1 Black
Rosy-Finch at a feeder on Evelyn Lane which is
about 4 miles N of Gunnison off of CO 135.

JEFFERSON COUNTY:
--The GOLDEN-CROWNED SPARROW at the Red Rocks Trading Post, first reported
by Henwood on October 26, was seen again on April 10 by Henwood.
--On April 10, Norm Lewis reported that the Fox Sparrow was seen at Red
Rocks Trading Post.

LARIMER COUNTY:
A Varied Thrush has been visiting the back yard feeders of Ken Allen in
Fort Collins since Jan 15. His address is 1719 Ticonderoga Dr. Please
call first home: 970-225-0988 or cell: 970-443-8093. On March 17,
Komar reported that the Varied Thrush was seen. Allen reported on April 2
that the Varied Thrush continues to regularly visit his yard around 9-10 in
the morning and late afternoon. Birders are welcome to come by if they
call him first.
--A Caspian Tern was reported by Komar on the N shore of Lake Loveland on
April 10.
--50+ Bohemian Waxwings were reported by Adam Johnson on The Oval at
Colorado State University in Fort Collins on April 10.  On April 12, Shade
reported several flocks of Bohemian Waxwings visiting the north end of The
Oval on the edge of CSU campus.  There is a berry tree with fruit on the NW
corner of Laurel and Howe which is attracting the birds.
--On April 12, Sparks reported 4 Common Redpolls at feeders behind the
Discovery Museum in Fort Collins and  Bohemian Waxwings in old town Fort
Collins.

LOGAN COUNTY:
--3 Lapland Longspurs were reported by Erthal and Sanders on Hwy 61 east of
Sterling on April 10.

MONTEZUMA COUNTY:
--12 Barrow's Goldeneyes (ad M, ad F, transitional M) were reported by
Kaempfer on a pond W of the Delores firehouse which is on the west end of
town on April 12.

PITKIN COUNTY:
--All 3 species of Rosy-Finches were reported by Filby at Snowmass on April
10.

PROWERS COUNTY:
--At Lamar Community College Woods on April 8, Teuton reported White-eyed
Vireo, singing Carolina Wren and m Northern Cardinal at the south end.

PUEBLO COUNTY:
--A pair of Broad-winged Hawks was reported by Roth south of city of Pueblo
on I-25 Access road just east of CF&I Ponds about 1/2 mile north of Stem
Beach Exit of I-25 on April 10.
--An Eastern Phoebe was reported by Percival along the Arkansas River below
Pueblo Reservoir Dam on April 10.

WELD COUNTY:
--2 Red-necked Grebes were reported by Sheeter at Firestone Gravel pits on
the pond closest to Hwy 119 on March 1.  Sheeter refound the 2 Red-necked
Grebes at Firestone Gravel pits on April 4 and says that they are turning
into breeding plumage.
--A F Barrow's Goldeneye was reported  by Sheeter on a pond off of CR 26
just west of CR 17 on April 4.
--A F Long-tailed Duck transitioning into breeding plumage was reported by
Sheeter at Frederick Rec Area on April 5.

YUMA COUNTY:
--An Eastern Phoebe and Red-bellied Woodpecker were reported by Corwin at
Sandsage SWA on April 7.

The DFO field trip for Sunday, April 14 will be to Cherry Creek Wetlands
led by Karen von Saltza (303-941-4881).  Meet the leader at 0800 at the
Prairie Loop lot in Cherry Creek SP.  From either park entrance, follow
Lake View Rd to the Prairie Loop which is located at the south rim of the
reservoir.  State Parks Pass or day pass required.  This half-day walk
passes through most of the important habitats found in the park over a
distance of about 3 miles.  Trails could be slippery or muddy, so dress
accordingly in layers and boots.  Bring water and snacks, but lunch is
optional.  Beginning birders are welcome.  No registration required.

The DFO field trip for Saturday, April 20 will be to Denver City Park led
by Chuck Hundertmark (303-604-0531).  Meet the leader at 0700 at the
parking strip SE of 22nd Ave just north of Ferril Lake.  From Colorado
 Blvd, turn west onto 22nd Ave, and go past the Museum of Nature and
Science.  Turn left just before the Zoo at the sign to the Pavilion
Bandstand.  Park on the left at the end of the parking area closest to
Ferril Lake.  Will Photograph and observe early nesting behavior of
Double-crested Cormorants, Black-crowned Night Herons, and Snowy Egrets on
Ferril and Duck Lakes.  For SLR's a 300 mm lens or better is recommended.
 Will walk the park for migrant and early nesters,  Bring water, snacks,
binocs, camera, optional tripod and scopes.  Half day trip.  Limit of 10
participants so call or email leader if you plan to attend.
